Princes in their Castle!  July 6 & 7
Picture
From the moment we first walked into our castle shaped hotel, Las Vegas exceeded my expectations.  (And probably caused sensory overload for my twins.)  We arrived late and instantly crashed, but travelled through time and space the next day, visiting New York, Paris, Venice, ancient Rome, Hollywood, and more in the span of a few blocks.

We were a little confused food-wise, having crepes in New York and pizza in Paris!  I think the boys enjoyed the pool the most, but the fountain show at the Bellagio was pretty cool too.

Dan & I revisit Paris -- sort of.

A Dam Experience ~ July 8
We drove down the Strip as we were leaving Las Vegas and saw some of the places that were too far to walk to the previous day.  We detoured south on our way to Utah to see one of the engineering marvels of the last century — the Hoover Dam.  It was built between 1931 and 1936 to control floods, provide irrigation water and produce hydroelectric power.  The power lines we saw on the drive in were quite impressive!  One of our fellow tourists was a Star Wars Storm Trooper.  Perhaps he was doing some research for the next Death Star?
